How do we declare our Independence

We have been Independent since 1947 i.e today we celebrate our 68th Independent Birthday, but what is the meaning of term independence we have today as compared to what we have on the midnight of 14-15th August, 1947. Let us explore.

The night we got Independence, our ancestors have witness something called "freedom" from the almighty British Rule then. They must have thought that after this day, we would be "free", "happy", "liberated", "independent", but they never thought the very own trivial rules they are forming as a social obligation will be a nightmare to the modern society in the making. No doubt we are free from the European rulers, but are we free from the rulers in our own society?

The Ideal society, the Utopia , which a common man then dreamt of doesn't even existed then. What happened at the time of India-Pakistan partition still gives many of us nightmares. Communal riots existed then also, and today also. It is so shameful that one rotten brain can influence so many healthy minds to rot into the hell they have created themselves. At that time there was the instance of partition, estimated 1000000 casualties on both sides. Today, since 2010, we have almost 6 major massacres including Chhatisgarh, West Bengal, Assam & Muzzafarnagar and many provocative speeches all across the country. The difference is today some part of some community is under the rule of one man/influencer. Are we free?

Today's individual is powerful, both men and women, we have got equal rights, in every field. So in that regards, men and women should feel equal in the society? IS it So? Look around and tell. Have you ever went with your girlfriend on a walk and suddenly you past across a secluded area, or a bunch of guys smoking and talking loudly, or a little shady are of the town? Did you heart pumped a little faster? Is there a concern in your mind? If there are some amount of doubt about the safety of your female friend or about safety of yourself if you are a girl, then give a thought about the freedom you have right now. Are you still free?

Have you ever went to a govt. office for some work and you can see no one is there to help you? Even the clerks are ignoring you? you wander here and there for half an hour, but all you did is to hear ruthlessness from the clerk sitting in front of you. The inquiry counter is empty. But you can see some non official personnel have all the access. The can go inside the counter, can have tea with the clerks, can crack jokes with them, but they are not govt. employees there. Then who they are?
They are your ticket to get your work done for 20 times the amount you are supposed to pay. They are your costliest agents. As the matter of fact, every level of govt. employees have their own profit sharing with them. that could be the reason you are being Ignored. You are still bound to have your work done , and still bound to hire one of those non govt. agents for your service. Are you still bound to feel Independent?

We do have all these problems still at the core of our system, Rapes, Corruption, Riots, LGBT Issues, but my question is, Is there still hope?
I hope the answer would be "Yes", because its faith which can drive us to a better society. better community, better governance, better people. But fear will lead us to the sad part of everything. So do not fear to have faith, We can turn one stone at a time, collect one drop at a time, all we need is trust in ourselves. Its up to us to look, and decide to be responsible of our actions, and how we can together work to make our India a better place to live for us and our coming generations. It is really up to us, How do we declare our Independence.

Our Final Problem

The title seems to be a bit negative but that's what it is. I have been off lately from many many months and i don't know when i wrote a blog last time, having said that lately i kind of got hung up with the turn of events in my life (Well that's a good start for an attempt to get back in good writing). Well, I wanted to talk about the "thing" which goes in our mind every moment of our awareness and sometimes it influences when we are asleep too. I don' know how to separate this "thing" from the term "awareness" itself, but you will get the Idea. Lets take an example, while you are reading this sentence, you are aware of everything you are focusing onto, and thus, THINKING. Yup that is the "thing". I want to explore how this process of "thinking" works.

THINKING . def, - A Process of Thought.

Oh my God, again we have to deal with "thought(s)". I am so freaked out dealing with my thoughts lately. What to do, what not to do, and again i am writing about thoughts. I thing this is a paradox. Everything begins with a thought, everything ends with a thought and in between its our thought process which make us go through the beginning to the end. So, let me get this clear, we are always dealing with thoughts. Sometime its our own thoughts and sometimes we are influenced about other's thought and try to work that around in a negative or a positive way. Sometimes we are scared about what others will think and sometimes we don't even care about other's. Well, put your hands together for Homo-Sapien's evolution to a modern day Man.

Human beings are so freaking confused beings of all the species, and that's all because of 3 pounds of squishy thing we got in our head which will lead us to be the greatest of greatest life OR it may doom us for nothing. Let me get into this stupid thing.

So, one day our good old scientists and doctors "thought", "we have to see what a Brain looks like!!", so they opened up a dead man's head (I almost wrote 'dead man's chest' :-)), and found out that our brain is divided into two halves, so they again thought "both of them could have different purpose", and years ad years of research followed and proved they did. so we have with us our left side and our right side. For some people left brain dominated and for rest right brain dominates. Let us look at their functionalities

The Right Brain
According to the left-brain, right-brain dominance theory, the right side of the brain is best at expressive and creative tasks. Some of the abilities popularly associated with the right side of the brain include:
Recognizing faces, Expressing emotions, Music, Reading emotions, Color, Images, Intuition, Creativity
The Left Brain
The left-side of the brain is considered to be adept at tasks that involve logic, language, and analytical thinking. The left-brain is described as being better at:
Language, Logic, Critical thinking, Numbers, Reasoning
Ooooh, that's interesting, have you seen what side of brain makes us happy. For me , its the right side of the brain which gives me pleasure, but i think left side is important too.
So, let me go back to the word "THINKING". thinking is our greatest enemy and our best friend too. But we have to face, excess of everything is unfavorable. From past few months i have been thinking a lot, and thus wasting my time because there is no action associated with the thought i have been having. But the main reason is that i have been thinking too logically and cause and effect scenarios of various things.
The thing is we have to first activate our right side of our brains, like a child. think in pictures, colors, music, think with creativity, with intuition, with a lot of Emotions, build a dream for yourselves. But there is the catch. Do not be in a dream so that it could haunt you. activate your left brain after a few seconds and see how could you achieve your dreams and put a timely action to it. That is the only simplified secret of success according to me.
Our final problem and its solution is the same - Thinking.

The ONE

When you wake up in the morning, what thought do you have ? What is the purpose of you day? Why you are getting up and getting out of the bed when you really want more rest? Why is it important for you to wake up every day?

Is it because its a part of you chores? Or because your wife wants you to make breakfast for kids ? Or your Boss wants you to reach a bit early in the morning and wrap up some work ? Or your girlfriend wants you to wake her up over the phone and then pick her up on your way to office?

Well it doesn't matter if you are waking up for any of the above or similar reasons, because as far as I know, these are not YOUR reason to survive that day. You are waking up for some one else's desire, not yours. It will not fulfill the purpose of your existence for that day. That is the reason why most of the people say that time went so fast, this year, this month, this week, all of it went so fast. That is because there is nothing to remember or significantly very less to remember about what you have done in the near past.

Remember when we were in college,we almost remember most of the days. There is a reason, because most of our college days were memorable. But when we get into the race of Jobs and Businesses, we wont have such moments every day, because everyone is busy in their own lives. Yeah obviously we have our and our friend's birthdays in our memories for long time or any of the occasion which was very very close to your heart. But the point is each and every day of our lives are valuable, but we are not doing anything to assign some value to our days. Same old watching television and doing social networking or even socializing with friends just for name sake will not assign much value to our days. So how van we make our each day valuable?

The answer to this question made a lot of people happier in their lives and is the first step towards Leadership. WE HAVE TO FIND "THE ONE" SOLID PURPOSE EACH AND EVERY DAY. That is how by fulfilling that particular purpose of day we can put value to our day. Please do not get intimidated by the Capital Letters. Because solid purpose could be anything, from making your bed in the morning to a nobel prize winning discovery. All depends on you. Finding the one solid purpose is very easy, just list down what you really want to achieve in your life and list down what you have to do to get there but keep everything as simple as you like. Also one may take as much time as they want but keep in ming your ultimate goal is to find "The One".

Once you find out, then starts the test of your persistence and dedication. How dedicated are you to get out of bed and achieve the daily purpose of that day which will assign some value to your particular day. Trust me it feels very very very rewarding when you do what you have in mind for that day and then you can possibly look forward to do more of the things without any tension.

Now here is the challenge (which I also am going through), daily do something valuable for 90 days, and compare your 90th day with today, I'm sure you will be mesmerized by the results which you will be having right in front of your eyes.

So lets not waste any more of time and start our first step into a very practical leadership in our own lives and start finding "the one" of our lives and get on to it as fast as we can.

Practical Leadership

Everyone wants to be a leader in their personal and professional life, but being a leader is not only a responsibility but also requires a willing to learn as you grow.  Some have a perception that leadership is a quality which a person is born with but I think otherwise, after all there is a reason why i've quoted "willingness to learn as you grow". Obviously we all will find some negative and some positive points for each of the person we like and want to become, but that's the truth about our society now. Even if you search for "Hate India" right now, you will find 9,05,00,000 results (in 0.35 seconds), so Internet is full of GOOD and BAD things and we often chose what we have to accept.  So some might appreciate what I am writing and some might not, but the bottom line is "try to chose the positive one". So coming back to leadership, I believe it is a quality which is totally learn-able, all depends on your personal teach-ability, and over the time our fathers and forefather have been tremendously successful in doing so.

Actually we might have seen many great leaders in this world but could have failed to realize. If you just crack down the qualities of leadership, you could find very common but astonishingly implemented daily routines of very simple attributes such as Honesty, Adaptability, Flexibility, Self-Awareness, Self-Confidence, Self-Motivation, Tolerance to Ambiguity, Sense of Humor, Proper Communication, Positive Attitude, Commitment, Intuition and at last Ability to Inspire.

Whoa! that seems a lot of things to carry a baggage of leadership around. But here is the fun part, you might have 4-8 of these qualities but you din't even realized it yet. I've just jotted each and every possibilities that I could think of right now.

But one of the major game changer for our generation is to get a mentor, basically someone who you aspire to become, maybe you father, your brother, college senior, manager or colleague, whomsoever you might find the inspiration from.

I will try to post some insights of mine on each attribute in my future posts and i will also talk about the achiever who has inspired me big time throughout his career which forced me to write about leadership today.

Till the time try to think which attribute do you find already inside yourself.

A little to think about....
